There are numerous occasions where Riky Rick touched hearts, inspired minds, and provided everlasting vibes. Let's take a trip down memory lane with love, taking a look at how he personified the diversity of his character.

Riky Rick & his reflection.

The Activist:

His iconic speech at the Metro Music Awards where he spoke against radio music gatekeeping, while encouraging future superstars to put their art on the internet.

The Escalator:

Riky Rick voluntarily introduced Uncle Vinny during an interview with Slikour, where he told everyone to look out for this young talent, who was unknown by many at that time.

The Hype-man:

Amongst many others, Riky Rick would occasionally hype up entertainers who were considerably making waves while being relatively new to the game.

The Platform Creator:

Riky Rick brought an experiential platform for all kinds of artists to showcase their craft, cotton eaters to drip, media to document the experience, brands to become relevant, and people to express their excitement.

The Music and Fashion Mixologist:

The Cotton Fest was built on the foundational movement of being a Cotton eater. This was well expressed in his song, Sidlukotini - which gave birth to a generational movement of fashion through music.

The Family Man:

While many in the industry immerse themselves into the bachelor lifestyle, Riky took pride in being a family man.

A Friend of the Whole Game:

The entertainment industry has always been fueled by beef, especially for the sake of being relevant. However, having this man as an enemy is unheard of. Riky was indeed a friend of the whole game.

At the end of the day, suicide will always be unacceptable to those left behind. There'll always be a longing to see Riky alive, and a wish that he tried harder to fight. After all, whether you cry or smile, Riky lives because energy never dies.

Ranked higher than some of the most internationally popular podcasts, Podcast and Chill with MacG has a divided audience, especially in its motherland, South Africa. This is because many people who feel the need to comment or share a perspective on the fast-growing entertainment brand, are too focused on what is being talked about, instead of paying attention to why it's being talked about.

P & C with MacG is built upon the foundation of documenting Black history. How do they do it? By establishing a platform for people to speak their truth. What do we know about the truth in society? It is unscripted, and most importantly, it is subjective to one's own version of it. This, however, does not change the fact that MacG's podcast holds no restriction or limitation for expression.

This unfiltered platform of unlimited expression is the reason why Chillers are not crazy for sticking up for the podcast, regardless of what negativity the show may encounter. Firstly, television hardly provides raw, unfiltered messaging which genuinely speaks to the audience in a truthful manner. Secondly, the news only tell us what they decide is relevant for us to pay attention to, and most of it is sad by the way. Lastly, brands only associate themselves with people as long as it's profitable to them. Think of how many Black people are used in adverts & how many of them have to walk on egg shells because of their brand affiliation, let alone get fired for the slightest controversy? The point is, Podcast and Chill is an outlet for the youth to experience the unfiltered truth of anyone who appears on the show, while finding a piece of themselves in the diverse narratives shared on the network.

Podcast and Chill with MacG should last forever in the entertainment history books. Not only has it paved the way for more podcasts, it has shown perseverance considering how rare it is such content to still exist despite the attempted reputational damage done by brands, corporate gangs together with their paid influencers. Dj Maphorisa jokingly claims one should not go to the podcast if they don't want to ruin their career. This has some humour to it considering that quite a few have run the risk of being canceled for revealing too much of their own truth. However, the podcast has had some thought provoking episodes which have shed some light on relevant affairs such as the state of South African media, narrated by Hlaudi Motsoeneng, or the deep rooted racism in South Africa as narrated by Celeste Ntuli.

On the internet, there's great and terrible stuff, but people choose what they want to embrace. What Podcast and Chill with MacG stands for is very inspiring. It's a platform for speaking your own truth, regardless of what narrative the heart tells you to push. It's a visually appealing, sonically funny, and vibrationally chilled piece of art which captures the heart of many chillers. Let the mass audience not be fooled by snippets, instead watch the full episodes, and if you have to, let your criticism be constructive instead of being destructive. Salute to the team, on and off the camera. To the rest of us, salute for watching, and may we be inspired to unleash our own voices, on our own platforms, for the sake of harmonious vibes and energy.

Danko.

This is LYE-LYE bringing you a platform to show the masses why your vibes don't lie. The LYE-LYE Network lets you contribute to the pursuit of unity, by helping you Launch Your Experience for the people to Locate Your Experience online.

Lye-Lye Network

Many of us have different views when it comes to politics, religion, and the economy at large, however, one thing is for certain; there needs to be more unity amongst us for harmony to prevail. The network is one of the ways in which LYE-LYE facilitates connections as a contribution to unity. The scarcity of opportunities has always been met with a need for connections. People who seek jobs know that they need to know someone who knows someone to put in a good word for them or present an opportunity to them. Business people know the importance of building a strong local community through communication, and securing lucrative business connections through networking. This is why the LYE-LYE network presents opportunities for meaningful connections. There is less focus on vanity metrics, such as who gets the most likes or comments, and more emphasis on helping you build connections while supporting others. We know that the best way in which we can embrace that unity is through supporting one another, helping you launch experiences for people to locate them, and building a society within society for us to be united again. The LYE-LYE network is a platform that presents an opportunity for you to Launch Your Experience for people to Locate Your Experience. There are five key elements that make up this online networking platform.

Visually Present Your Identity

Visually present your identity

People need to know who you are, which is why your identity or that of your business or brand needs to be visible. This includes your name/brand or business name, the logo or face of your brand or any other visual aesthetic that conveys what you or your brand stands for. The last bit of information you need to include is a word that describes what you or your brand/business/movement specialise(s) in.

Spread Your Message

Spread your message

This section refers to the description space which is there for you to spread the ideal message about your brand/business/movement etc. Purposeful messages are a gateway to meaningful relationships between you/your brand and your stakeholders (consumers or potential clients/funders/employers). The description space is there for you to speak your truth and be heard by those who can relate. When describing your offering, remember to let people know why they should do business with you, consume your content or attend your events, because it is important that your purpose is clear. Do not just tell us what you are doing, tell us why you are doing it. We unite with purpose more than we do with material things.

Connection

Connection

Bring eyes to your website, social media profile, or any other platform which you feel has the biggest potential to boost engagement, while increasing the potential for new connections. This is done by pasting a link to the relevant site where you want people to get more information about who you are or what your business/brand/movement is about. For example, some musicians use music distribution platforms that showcase multiple links which connect people to the artist’s music on multiple platforms like YouTube Music or Tshepo Mgaga’s Fyve Music. This link will then be connected to a “Link-Up” button that people will press to go directly where you want them to go. The point of this section is to ensure that people connect with you on the platform that you want them to find you.

Communication

Communication

This space is reserved for those who would like to contact you. The provision of your email address facilitates communication between you and your stakeholders or audiences. These can be people who are trying to book your services or know how to purchase your product.

Express Your Experience

Express Your Experience

Whether it is a link to your latest content/work, event or livestream – expressing your or your brand’s experience in an isolated way helps audiences become aware of your/your brand’s priorities. In the digital space, expression works best with video content, as it creates a stronger appeal to the eyes of your audience, making it easier for them to remember you. The experience you want people to locate should be accompanied by a cover photo and a short description (one/two sentences). LYE-LYE suggests adding links to any type of content/page that expresses who you are or what your brand/business/movement stands for. The link does not always have to connect to video content – it can be anything; a location, article, a page where members can purchase tickets for your e.g., event, a music streaming site or social media platform for others to experience your craft. This link will be connected to the ‘LYE’ button which people can press to ‘Locate Your Experience’. For example, if you are a DJ, you can attach a link that connects people to a Facebook post which showcases you performing so that event organisers or club promoters can see how good you are, and thus book you. Basically, this is where you let people experience your online or digital vibes for them to decide whether or not they would like to vibe with your content, brand, business or movement etc. In the description space you told them why, but here you show them why.
